Organoleptic properties

Clear, ruby red. The nose reveals intense yet elegant aromas:  dried violet, currant, spices, candied peel, cocoa, hints of ash delight the senses. Strikingly well-balanced in the mouth, with elegant and smooth tactile sensations which invite further tasting. Long persistence with a finish reminiscent of dark chocolate and quinine.

Description

Askos is the name of our project dedicated to the research, selection and valorization of the local heritage of native varieties. The wines are produced exclusively with grapes coming from particularly favourable areas in which the vine is trained following tradition. The symbol is an askos, a Greek “decanter” dating from the 1st century B.C.

Similar to Negroamaro but with fruity and aromatic notes. It is even more representative of the terroir, less demanding but still unique.
